Mandate and context
While Montreal's recreation and tourism sector is experiencing a strong recovery following the pandemic, the east end of Montreal is not benefiting from as much economic benefits as the rest of the territory. The CCEM wishes to improve its tourism offer and increase the number of visitors to its prestigious attractions, including the Olympic District.
Implementation and solutions
To better evaluate the economic impact of tourism in the east end of Montreal, Volume10 conducted a portrait of the tourism performance of the entire city and then of the territory served by the CCEM. Based on the results obtained, the firm proposed a realistic development plan (functions, actions and organizational structure) along with a timetable.
Impact and outcomes
With the financial support of the government, an organization dedicated to recreation and tourism in the east end of Montreal was created. Its objectives are: to better structure the offer, to support promising projects and to bring together the stakeholders to promote the development of tourism on the CCEM territory.
