MR-63

Griffintown Revitalization Initiative

Mandate and context

After several decades of economic and social decline, which plunged Griffintown into oblivion, the district became the focus of a major redevelopment project at the turn of the 21st century. However, in the midst of its rapid urban development, the district remains the scene of an unfinished quest for identity. It was against this backdrop that MR-63 commissioned VOLUME10 to present the project's pivotal role in defining its cultural and artistic identity to government authorities. MR-63, made up of eight former Montreal metro cars, is a collective infrastructure project in Griffintown scheduled for 2025.

Implementation and solutions

Volume10 builds the project's value proposition based on an in-depth understanding of residents' current needs and expectations, researching references and quantifying its potential impact on the Quebec economy.

Impact and outcomes

By highlighting the inadequacy and inappropriateness of the current commercial offer in the face of the pressing demands of Griffintown residents, we were able to demonstrate that the MR-63 project met all the necessary conditions to become the linchpin guaranteeing Griffintown's sustainability. As a result, the project fits seamlessly into the ongoing development of Griffintown.
